What's one piece of first aid advice everyone should know?!

Question: My first choice was the Heimlich manuver, but it's taken. Second choice is: when someone is seriously ill, dizzy, diabetic problems, etc. have them lie down somewhere and elevate their feet 1 - 1/2 feet. (Helps shunt blood to the vital organs when there's impending shock.)

Heimlich maneuver

Cleanliness is most important. Clean hands, clean cuts, clean wounds, clean tools.

CPR

911, or adding an ICE (In Case of Emergency) # to cell phone contact list.

Don't panic.

Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

911, and first aid.

Well, personally I think that everyone should know all the basic first aid rules, but if I had to choose just one it would be the heimlich manoeuvre, because this can actually save a life then and there, also we get a few shouts, where a life could have been saved just for knowing this;
999/911 isn't first aid!! Thats rubbish! Even my niece (who is 4 years old) would know to phone 999 if someone was dying!
CPR, also should be known, but unfortunatly many 'purples' can't be saved, so knowing CPR hardly ever helps the patient, even if it does help the first aiders conscience!

dont b scared of blood

CPR and basic first aid

learn cpr and aed training

first aid

Everyone should take a first aid and cpr class. Especially if you have kids. You can take one through the red cross. It was well worth it and I feel comfortable that (god forbid) anything happens I'll at least have some idea of what to do, even if I didn't remember everything. (plus thay give you nice handouts and booklets with info)

CPR the #1 thing

How to stop or control massive bleeding, and treat for shock, since CPR is already taken.

Scene safety! Never enter an area to help a person, unless it is safe for you to do so. A injured/dead rescuer is not only useless, but it also adds to the number of victims.

Call 911
CPR

I thought of one no one else said! (but its not the most important either lol) To treat a minor burn never apply ice, or anything cold. Also don't apply ointments. If you have to, you should only rinse the burn with lukewarm water.
