I don't know how old you are, but I think you need to at least be a teenager to use YA so...
If you're having JUST ear pain and no drainage, hearing loss or fever, I'd wait a day. If it is still there after 24hrs go see your doctor. If you're an adult and there's no fever it's probably viral and self-limiting. But if it persists you may have a bacterial process that should get treated w/ simple antibiotics like Amoxicillin or else the membrane inside your ear may perforate, or a fluid collection can develop or the infection can spread. Hope you start feeling better, mate.
A drop or two of sweet almond oil in the ear canal helps, as does someone blowing smoke into the canal. After that, see a doctor; the first two are just to kill pain until you can see medical help.
Tylenol for the pain may help till you can get to the Dr.
