How long does it take for you to feel normal again after a migraine?!

Question: I've been getting terrible ones--terrible enough that I was hospitalized over night on Sunday night for having one. I'm still very out of sorts--okay, I feel like a space cadet! How long before I start feeling my normal self again?

Anywhere from 30minutes to three days. You can also have an afterglow, which consists of dizziness and an echo of a headache.

drink LOTS of water, not fizzy drinks, as MUCH water as you can before your sick...and stop lookin at computa/TV screens...lol

I usually sleep about 15 hours after I vomit from a migraine, and I feel fine (painwise). Still move a little slow for another day, though.

Could your situation be due to some meds they gave you in the hospital?

Are you sure its a migraine? Usually migraines are relieved after a nights rest or sooner if you get the proper medication. you need to see your doc and get a basic neuro exam and then referred to a neurologist for medication if they determine you do actually suffer from migraines. I have known people who have been hospitalized due to migraines but they usually feel better the next day...I guess it depends on what you were given to ease the pain.

Sometimes takes me a day or two of feeling shaky after the headache has completely gone.

half hour

Hi : )

Migraines are caused by abnormal activity in the brain. This abnormal activity may be triggered by a number of factors. Although the exact process in which this occurs is unknown, the disorder appears to involve blood vessels, nerve pathways and chemicals in the brain. Some researchers believe migraines are caused by imbalances in brain chemicals or changes in the trigeminal nerve in the face.
