What makes Oxycontin preferable to hydrocodone?!
Question: The Oxycontin will provide pain relief over a 12 hour period as opposed to the hydrocodone which will only last about 4.
It's a shame all the people that jump on here to call people druffies when there is a very legitimate pain management problem and people that don't live in chronic pain just don't get it.

Oxy is good stuff. I prefer it. Just be safe.

Oxy is supposed to be more addictive, but a stronger painkiller. I would avoid Oxy.
Oxy is definately a stronger pain pill. Both are very addictive, stay away from them if you can. There are other pain pills that are non narcotic and work just as good.
It is stronger. Hydrocodone is just vicodin which can be called in to the pharmacy by the doctor because it is a lower level narcotic. Oxy is stronger and longer lasting and cannot be called in because of this.
