What are the laws for taking a person off painkillers that doctors have to follo!

Question: the pain killers are oxycontins

Answers: the pain killers are oxycontins

They are required by law to ween you off at a safe dosage to prevent you from getting dope sick. And for those that have never been detoxing from pain pills it is like living in hell for about 2 weeks and then you will still feel the effects on your sleep for months.

Another option is to go to a methadone clinic and slowly lower the dosage over a period of time.

Once again for those that think people that take pain medications are all weak and just want a buzz you are wrong.
I have 2 plates, 4 rods, and several screws that let me know they are in my neck every single day.

The medications doesn't get me high it allows me to walk sometimes and at least have some sort of normal life.

I would think that if the docs thought the person was addicted it would be thier duty to stop the drug.

I wasn't aware there were a "law" anywhere that made a doctor do something that was against his better disposition. If it's his order then who's to decide if it's wrong?

If it were a consultation by the family then they could make a choice but, other then this, the doctors word should be good enough.
If I were approached in this manner by a family I would tell them to simply find another doctor, not wanting to get into a libel suit.
