You are having a problem with your endocrine system and your circadian rhythm is out of whack.

The tiredness sounds like a bad functioning Adrenal Gland and possibly thyroid. If you are deficient in iodine, your thyroid is not going to make the hormones you need to function well. If you are deficient in copper, your Adrenal Glands are not going to work well. Zinc and copper are antagonists minerals in the body. If you eat too much zinc, you will become deficient in copper and vice-versa.

Additionally, if you eat a diet high in Carbs and Low fat, this is going to not be giving you the right kind of sustained energy your body is requiring to be healthy. Also, dehydration is another problem that is overlooked by many practitioners that can cause this problem.

Whew! I know this is a lot to consider, but if you just work on some basics, you should improve greatly. I would go to the drug store and buy a bottle of "tincture of iodine." Smear a patch on your forearm or chest about 2" x 3." Note the time of day. This should be visible for 24 hours. If it disappears in a few hours, you are very deficient in iodine. Typically this happens if you brush with fluoride toothpaste, drink fluoridated water, shower in fluoridated water, drink sodas (they all contain lots of fluoride), etc. Fluorine depletes the body of iodine. People, especially small children and babies should avoid ALL fluoride because they are more susceptible to this problem and can develop goiters and low thyroids.

Avoid ALL soy products, except for fermented soy like the Japanese eat (soy sauce & miso -- NO TOFU!). Look on packages of processed foods, they contain loads of soy.

If you do not get at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night, your adrenal glands will not recharge. If you eat lots of sugar, your pancreas will get tired and your adrenal glands are going to suffer greatly.

When you go to sleep at night, your room must be perfectly dark. NO Light! The pineal gland is responsible for producing hormones, like melatonin, that help you sleep. If there is any light in the room, the pineal gland will not function properly.

Go to the following web site and order these products:

Tranquinol --- Take 2 before bed. After doing this for 10 days, this will reset your circadian rhythm.

Melatonin --- This is very specially made. It is not like any you have bought in stores. It is very highly biologically active and really works. 1st day, put 3 drops on a spoon and put it under your tongue before bed. Next night, increase the number of drops until you get to between 8 and 10 per night. After putting this under your tongue, go to bed and try to sleep. You should fall asleep relatively soon. this is not a sleeping pill, but natural melatonin like your body makes.

You will be amazed at how well this works for you.

Additionally, stop ALL caffeine from your diet. I would also order "Adrenal Complex" from the same company and take about 9 capsules before noon each day for the same period of time you are taking the tranquinol.

After doing this, you need to examine your diet and work on making the necessary changes that are going to make you healthy. I suggest going to: www.westonaprice.org and read the links and literature provided there. Also, purchase a book, "Life without Bread" by Christian Allan, pH.D. A very good book explaining how fats and carbs work in the body.

good luck to you

have you seen a dr about this? be sure you arent drinking anything that may have hidden caffeine or sugar in it at night. I would also try to set a routine for sleep the same time every night if possible. try relaxing music or reading or something to help set "downtime"

they also have over the counter sleep aides but IM not sure about those without contacting a dr first...

It sounds like your mind is running at 240mph, your body wants to slow down - but can't - I am in the midst of treatment for just about the same thing, but I have all over pain associated with it.

I take a mild antidepressant before bedtime. It relaxes me enough to let me doze off with the TV on - but the TV has to be on something that is just white noise (I use QVC or HSN) turned down low. Eventually I fall asleep and can usually sleep for 4-5 hours (which is better than it was before).

You really need to make a doctors appointment - because the longer you go like this - the more likely your fatigue will start to manifest itself into physical discomforts.

Best of luck to you in getting this resolved.

well i never have problems falling asleep, but im always tired. i have under active thyroid and im always wanting to sleep even with my meds. so i dunno how to help ya. i cant figure out how to keep myself awake
