Its a ganglion cyst. I had one in the same place on my left hand. I had it surgically removed in August. Your options are to get it aspirated or have it surgically removed. To have it aspirated, it has to be a liquid cyst. When you apsirated it there is a greater chance of it coming back. Mine was hard and more jell like (gross huh). That is why I had to have it surgically removed. The recovery time was 2 weeks in a sling/soft cast and then I was fine. Minimal scarring too.

Daz C, I just got a little scared reading yours, but thanks just the same. Report It

I honestly had this same problem.... And I too believed it to be a recurring 'sprain'!!! Wrong!!! You have one of the easiest bones that you can break in your wrist.... the Scaphoid... It is also the hardest bone to heal in your body!!! Try and get your wrist x-rayed asap.... If, like mine, you leave it too long... or the Docs at the hospital, don't check that specific bone... it grows very slightly deformed... needing a 'screw' to hold it together and in place.... I went back to the A&E Department maybe 6 times - each time having fallen open-handed onto the wrist..... They only x-rayed the Scaphoid, after I went in again.... this time with a collar bone... broken in 3 places!!! The x-ray on my wrist was, even then, an afterthought!!!
