In the garden I got bitten by something, but I don't know what...?!

Question: It really hurt at first, but a few minutes later it doesn't really hurt that bad. There's a tiny red spot (no swelling) on the back of my leg...

I saw a wasp carwling around and when I threw something at it, it didn;t fly away, so maybe it was the wasp??

How can I tell whether it was a wasp bite or a spider? And should I be worried and go to the hospital??? I don;t really want to go to the hospital if it's not something that will kill me...

Your advice is really appreciated! Thankyou :)

Almost all spider bites are non life threatening. If you were bitten a while ago and you haven't really experienced any pain since you were bitten/stung, you're probably ok. As long as the swelling goes down and the area doesn't become painful, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it was a wasp, there won't be a stinger embedded in you. Try not to scratch the site, that will only make it worse. From now, maybe you shouldn't throw stuff at wasps, they tend to not like that.

GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!! The thing that bit you might be poisonous!

If it has one bite mark, then it's probably the wasp. If it's two tiny spots, then it's something with fangs like a spider. Unless you're extremely allergic to wasp stings, then you'll just hurt for a couple of days, the sting will start to look worse than it feels and then it will go away in about a week or so. Feel lucky, my daughter got stung on her chin and she was puffy and sore for the whole week.

it could be a wasp. It burns at first but then gets itchy. I doubt it's anything serious.

Merry Christmas

it sounds like it could be a wasp or a spider bite . i wouldnt go to the hospital unless there was alot of swelling . you will know if u need to go to the doctor put some oninment on it an it will go away . good luck

don't worry about it until it starts to show black and blue colors, or of you start to get light headed or nauseous.

Spider bites in general leave a small hole and usually it will turn black. I would suggest taking a benadryl unless your allergic. That will help the swelling, and keep an eye on it. If you see any red lines comeing from it, or if it takes on a worse appearence, get to the ER.

Take care

You should go to a doctor or a walk in clinic or if necessary got to a hospital ER unit. Why take a chance? Usually a bee or wasp sting will be quite painful whereas a spider bite may not. It's just not worth the risk of it being something that will have serious complications.

No wait atleast 4 hours before you go to the hospital
if it dosent swell up and remain the same your good
if it hurt really bad then kinda burned after then it was the wasp try putting some baking soda on it

Put some bug bite reliever like campho phenic (spelling ) that should help , if there is persistent painful swelling or you get a fever, its something that may need medical attention .

if its that bad or poisonous you would have chills, high grade fever and headache maybe vomit...
if not maybe the one who bit you just happen to leave their mark (sting) there....
maybe she found you sexy that's why you got bit on your leg....
just clean the site, don't rub it hard.look for the stinger, if you can remove it better
observe your self for the next 24hrs for the sign and symptoms i gave to you

hope this helps you

Not everybody has to go to the ER because of a wasp or spider bite. See, what makes us to look for medical help is if we are or are not allergic to them. Some people are some others aren't. If you are allergic to them the spot would hurt more and itch and eventually it would start getting more swollen, your face starts getting swollen too, you might feel hot and have itching. If the spot is not painful any more and you don't have these symptoms them just go to your local pharmacy and get some Benadryl (diphenhidramine) and take it as indicated on the box.
If symptoms persist consult your doctor immediately.

the wasp may have been carrying the solanium virus goto the hospital b4 its too late

watch the swelling if it is not bad you are probably ok, redness and pain would be other things to look for. diphenhydramine is a good histamine blocker to cancel any ill effects of an allergic reaction but it can make you drowsy. hydrocortisone cream works directly on any itch without the systemic side effects.

put an oinment on it! if it worsen, go to nearest hospital

Sounds like a spider bite. Keep a close eye on it. If the redness continues to spread or shows any color change toward a bluish tint see a doctor immediately. The bite of the brown recluse spider is not painful but the poison is dangerous. If it shows any puffiness have it checked out because that means there is some kind of infection building.
