Cut on knuckle?!
Question: On Saturday afternoon I was taking down some tiles from my new kitchen wall and took a chunk on skin out of my knuckle. I've had a plaster on it for a few days but it's not been healing properly. I have now taken the plaster off and it's getting dryer but it's still not healing totally and theres a flap of skin that keeps getting caught and it keeps opening again. It'ds only about 1/2cm wide but its quite deep (not dead deep, but not like a graze, it's a small chunk) and I'm not too sure what to do. Do I go to a&e and get a suture put on (hopefully ot wasting their time! They might laugh!) do I go to the nearest walk-in centre or do I go GP? Or do I just put another plaster on?? (baring in mind it was'nt healing under a plaster!!!!)

Go to see your GP incase it gets infected!

rub some salt into it
triple antibiotic ointment and a butterfly bandage...a knuckle is a hard place to get to heal quickly because of the constant movement.
i had a deeper cut and used a band aid then a piece of skin dried up and fell in a couple of days...
just keep changing the band aid, cleaning it, and putting hydrogen peroxide and antibiotic ointment
skin healed and my thumb look normal.... except for the giant scar
hey i have one in my knuckle as well... got it while doing some more handy work
I cut my knuckle the other day and had a 2cm wooden splinter sticking out of it. It still hurts like hell. I think they heal differantly because your are constantly bending your finger. I would go to the GP. I think i might lol
