I'm always tired and I'm not sure why?!

Question: I am always tired no matter what I do. I have a regular schedule, nothing out of the ordinary. I sleep between 8-10 hours a night, and yet for some reason it never seems to be enough. My sleep schedule on the weekends doesn't differ very much. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

Do you get dehydrated? This sounds a lot like dehydration. You sweat it out or you just don't drink your water, and when your water level runs low, you tire, lose motivation.
If you drank more water that might help, or you may need to try to get more sodium and electrolytes into your diet. Orange juice would be a great upper. It's full of potassium and it would make you thirsty and get you to drink more. Try buying V-8 in those small 6 oz. cans for a snack. The tomato pulp would also help flush out your colon and increase your appetite. There are lots of things you can snack on for a great pick-me-up that are full of potassium. Raisins, prunes, dates, figs and dried apricots are full of potassium.
B complex vitamins are actually the best motivators you can find. It will curb your nervous energy, smooth over your stress and keep you functioning on an even keel. The worst thing you can do is turn to sugar, corn syrup, chocolate, or caffeine. It will give you a quick high but leave you burnt out and tired. They will make you flush out those B vitamins and lose too much water. Then you will feel tired and burnt out.
I hope this helps you.

maybe because u hav 2 much on ur mind and maybe u should try som coffee

try drinking yerba mate' tea, it really helps with energy loss.

my problem was my thyroid wasn't functioning the way it should. i now take a small tablet daily and i am fine!
its a matter of a simple blood test, so chat with your g.p.
good luck with it and merry christmas!

There are as many factors you didn't mention (age, diet, amount of physical activity, general mental state, other symptoms) as there are possibilities to your question.

In general, however, if your diet is good, you exercise, and stay busy most days then the first things that come to mind are depression or a thyroid issue.

Severe depression can cause crippling exhaustion in some people.

Hypo ("under active) Thyroid can also cause tiredness.

?f your diet heavily lean on carbohydrates such as sugar, white flour, etc. and lack of exercise might be the cause, You must replace your diet with vegetables especially dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, lettuce, and fruits with low glisemic index such as kivi fruit. and practice moderate exercise each day. ?t may be due to high blood sugar levels. if it doesn't help, you must see a M.D.and have a medical check-up

Way to go for having a schedule! I can never stick to one... :o)

Diet can be a major component in fatigue issues... if you are lacking some nutrients you could feel fatigued. Anemia (being female) is the first thing that comes to mind because it is so common.

Thyroid problems are also very common.

I would think that if you are sticking to a routine then you probably aren't terribly depressed as that would tend to interfere with your routine, but could be another possibility. If it is really bothersome, you should talk to your doctor.

Most things that would cause fatigue can be picked up in simple blood work. In the meantime... It wouldn't hurt to start taking a multivitamin. You may find that it helps but don't start taking other vitamins (especially iron) without seeing your doctor first because they could have serious adverse effects. Hope you feel better!

Perhaps you need a women's energy multivitamin every day.
