Sprained ankle?!

Question: Yesterday I slipped off my front entryway step and landed on my ankle completely wrong. I heard it crack and my foot immediately went numb but I could still move my toes. I have been painfully limping around since and my mom is worried that I may have broken it. It is still a little bit swollen. Is it sprained or could it be broken?

It most assuradely could be broken, the only real way to know though is an ex-ray and foot and ankle injuries don't always show up for a few days to a few weeks. They should put you in a walking brace though, it really helps,

It COULD be broken. I did this, and I was a paramedic, and figured, I would be fine. It took about 2 hours for my ankle to swell up like a balloon.....I even tried to drive a clutch with a left ankle that was injured.

I broke my ankle on BOTH sides, and did a MAJOR sprain of the ankle. That was over 7 years ago. I STILL have problems with my ankle from chronic tendonitis.

GO TO THE ER NOW....it isn't worth waiting and making it worse or missing something.

It depends on how you landed. If the pain is sharp, there is a chance it is broken because the broken bone is jabbing at your skin.

Go see a doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
