Hurt ankle?!

Question: Yesterday I was hanging out with a couple friends after school. there's the school wall building and stairs with a ledge on the wall. I was climbing around on the ledge to see part of the roof of the building (a lower, aluminum like roof, not the actual roof-roof). My friend was on the ground on the other side of the wall + ledge so I decided to jump since he agreed to catch me. It wasn't too high up, probably 6-8 feet off the ground or so. well he didn't catch me, and my ankle twisted. I didn't completely fall on the ground but I couldn't put any weight on my ankle for a while. right after I twisted it, (seconds after), it was kinda numb-ish, then it started to hurt. I didn't hear any crack or anything, but it was outside and loud so I might've missed it.

now, it's a little swollen ((I very rarely swell with any injury though)) and I can barely put weight on it without it hurting. I can limp around but that's about it.

besides going to a doc and RICE, what should I do? >.<

You need to have an x-ray - there is no way of knowing if it is broken or strained without one, If it is broken, you wany it to heal correctly so you will be able to have a strong ankle. Get it x-rayed.

uhh nothing...

In theory, if you can walk on it the following day, with a little bit of pain, then its only a sprain. BUT I AM NOT A DOCTOR!

The only way to know for sure is to go to a doctor. You could have a hairline fracture and not be able to tell for weeks.

try staying off for a week or so then try to walk and keep puting ice on it
