Why did I almost pass out?!

Question: so today I was doing a chem lab where we were making ice cream. of course my hands got really cold and wet and then all of a sudden I felt sick and dizzy. Then I couldn't hear anything. I went to the nurse and slept for 2 hours I was out cold. was it because my hands got too cold? one of my fingers still hurts for some reason. I also kinda haven't been eating all that much I haven't eaten a full meal since monday or tuesday and today is thursday. Which is the reason?

well, it cant be chemicals in the chem lab, otherwise your entire class woulda been out. and also a [proper] chem lab would have extremely tight cleanup procedures.

my guess is that you havent been eating properly. trust me, one of the worst things you can do is not eat. i made that mistake, being an AP student and having homework shoved up your.... well, lets not go into that right now.

anyways, the bset thing for you to do would be to eat. your blood sugar level is too low, giving your body nothing to metabolize, giving you less energy to use, making you tired, unable to process visual information and making you dizzy, and eventually passing out.

you are HUNGRY

it was probly from not eatin much.. blood sugar got low.. it makes you dizzy and you can pass out from it.. its not good to not eat

Probably the not eating. Get a good meal in you and a good nights sleep and you should be fine.

I think it was because of your hunger, but I'm no health professional.

huh? i dont get it.

maybe you inhailed to much gas er something
go to the doctor

No food and work makes people faint. Eat three meals tomorrow and repeat for the rest of your life. Call me if it does not work.

You probably got frostbite and went into shock.

ask ur nurse! maybe u just hate it when u have cold hands or maybe u had a stressful day and really nedded to sleep!!

It's called lack of food. Eat.

you might just need to eat a bit more for the nutrients, your body might not be able to stay stable because of fewer healthy foods.

wow that's weird i have no idea!!! well maybe you should go to the doctor maybe the cold gave your body a reaction...weird things happen like that

It could be related to you not eating much or you might have reacted to something in your chem lab. If your really worried you could see a doctor about it.

probably the not eating part combined with the coldness.. just kinda messed you up a little... maybe lack of sleep too.. just sleep, eat, & dont make ice cream in chemistry is ur best bet! lol

I'm no doctor, but I'm guessing part of it is food deprivation! You have to eat something. I'm not sure how cold hands could make you feel dizzy and later pass out... maybe you're extra sensitive to cold?

One thing's for sure.... Eat Something!

weird have you called your doctor? you could have frost bite on ur finger and you should try to eat

eat and make sure you're hydrated and getting enough sleep. =]

It's possible that your blood sugar was very low or you were standing with your knees locked. I would suggest seeing a doctor and getting some blood work done for a more definite answer.

I'm guessing your blood glucose level was low. Are you choosing to not eat much, or have you had a loss in appetite?

The reason that happened to you is because you haven't eaten enough

low blood sugar...
