What does this sound like (description of healed ankle)? see details?!

Question: I sprained my ankle. X-rays were done. I was told that I had a grade two sprain, and strain between grade 2 and grade 3. That was August 2nd.

I went to doc immediately, and rehab soon after. Rehab was finished in October, and doc said ankle was restored to normal range of movement, normal use, etc.

I am able to work, walk, etc. The ankle healed, and hasn't regressed.

Healing so far: Only in this past week have I started to be able to jog for 4 or 5 steps, when I am in a hurry to get from one side of the building to another.

It still hurts to walk on ground or pavement which is somewhat uneven. When I walk down steps, the healed ankle hurts, and will not allow me to bend my foot as much as the other foot when stepping down. This means I have to turn the foot and leg outward when stepping down, which makes me look like I have one bowed leg.

The current state of my ankle is the same as it was immediately upon completing rehab.

Will it get any better?

The sprain damaged ligaments in your ankle. Once stretched out ligaments never really go back to normal so you need to keep the muscles in that area strong to compensate. Basically you need to continue doing the exercises and stretching from rehab pretty much forever. Do it with both legs to stay even.
