i had a similar problem... my knees ached from injury i got x-rays and nothing showed up... its just one of those things you have to take easy rest it if it gets that bad take pain killers and use and ice pack or hot wheat bag ether worked well for me

probably pinched a nerve...or u had a run in with tonya harding...either way..ur hooped!!!

My right knee has made grinding noises for the past 10 years or so. X-rays don't show anything, and I've never had an MRI. I'm kind of scared to get one, because they only good solutions for knee problems is surgery.

muscle tear and it has fluid on it, need to stay off it, if not, will take months to heal, try putting ice on it at night....

You need to go see a knee specialist. X-rays dont always see it but it sounds lik you might have a torn maniscus. its a pad in between the joints generally only an MRI scan will pick up. The now and then pain your getting is fluid build-up that happens with activity. The proceedure to fix (if thats what it is) is a simple out patient surgery. It takes about a month to heal and between 6 months and a year to fully rehab. But again, go see a knee specialist.

The knee is a tricky piece of machinery. I've had problems all my life with one or the other, most of the pain derived from the fact that I have an insufficient amount of fluid to lubricate the joint. The result has been broken cartilage, stretched ligaments and inflammation, none of which shows on an X-Ray. Rest and hot and cold compresses have gotten me through most of the ordeals. Now that I'm older and am less active, I have almost no pain at all. So, I know what you're going through. I had several days when I thought I'd never walk again. The best thing I can recommend is that you rest the knee till it stops hurting then start a regimen of low impact exercise ( fixed bicycle is best ) to strengthen the muscles surrounding the knee. It'll work.
