it is safe to give half paracetamol to a 5 year old as long as u crush it up and add a bit of water to it on a spoon and give them it that way just dont make a habit of it

Calpol is paracetamol, just in liquid form.
Always read the medical guidelines, but generally I would say yes.I always had paracetamol when I was little.Make sure it's the correct dose though.

call your local pharmacy up and check first. What has he got as a call to your DR may be better.

Yes, as it's cheaper than calpol with is liquid paracetamol. If the child won't swallow, try crushing the half tablet between two metal spoons and mix with jam.

Yes, you can (assuming no drug allergies). Kids' medicine is just a smaller dose of adult medicine, with flavouring and colour. If it's one of those super extra power type paracetamol, use a quarter.

Yes, this is fine. 1/2 paracetamol will help bring his temperature down but consult a doctor tomorrow is poss if he is still the same. If you are really concerned, call NHS Direct. Hope he is better soon.

Call The N.H.S.helpline,,,,08454647,,,,,,

Yes just follow the directions excatly.Do not overdose ,if the fever persists however see a doctor.Fever is an indication of an infection and the body raises its temperature in order to try to fight it in hope of killing the bug,if the fever persists you will need to get a prescription such as an antibiotic after being diagnosed by a medical practitioner.

Yes, that should be fine. The children's' version of paracetamol syrup (aka Calpol) contains 120mg per teaspoon, so half a 250mg tablet is virtually identical to that. Crush it between two spoons & mix it in some jam or the like to make it palatable.

Oh, and avoid anything else that contains paracetamol, such as Lemsip.

Dose is 10mg per Kilogram of body weight.

Half a Paracetamol tablet is 250 mg.

Therefore as long as child is 25 Kg (4 stone then this is correct dose) otherwise work out dose accordingly at 10mg per Kg this can be repeated 4 to 6 hourly no more than 4 doses per 24 hours.

Be careful, if you are not confident with the maths seek help, it can be very dangerous to exceed dosage.

no you cannot , you would be better of with Calpol . for the kids, Go to your local chemist and ask them they are the best people to give you advice.
Go to your local supermarket

best to give him something soft or liquidy
