That's why I don't put either fentanyl or morphine in my spinals. I got tired of treating the itching and nausea.

The nausea could have been from the opiate pain medication in the spinal, or from a drop in blood pressure as the spinal took effect. Both are very, very common.

Congrats on the new baby!

The itchiness sounds like a common reaction to opioid pain meds. They should have been aware and given you something, maybe even lotion for the itch. If not opiod, you could have been allergic to the analgesia, latex or other amterial they used. Nausea after analgesia is pretty common.

Typically when you or any one is given morphine(pain meds) they get real itchy. and the nauseia is the reaction to the anistesia i had nauseia sooooooo friggin bad aftermy surgery it was unreal!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the general anastesia and that was bad!!!!!! I can not have morphine but i know how it effects people!!!!!!! I hope this helped you the symptoms were all common for the type of drugs you were given

yep i agree with the other answers. we give narcotics in the OR and they cause you to itch!

those are completely normal reactions. congrats on the new little one!
