I have a patch of numbness above my knee where I fell and hit it pretty hard. Is!

Question: I tripped over something I didn't see and hit the sidewalk pretty hard yesterday. I have a few bruises on the knee that hit hardest, and right above that knee is a spot where my skin is numb. I've never had it do this before. What's going on with this? It's just numb on the surface, oddly enough, and the knee seems to be working ok.

It can be. When you smash a part of your skin hard it stuns your nerve to shut down so you're not feeling as much pain. As long as the injury was recent, it's fine but you still need to go to the doctor because it means you fell too hard. Get yourself checked for anything you don't see under the skin - fractures, etc.

Yeah it's normal for SEVERE injury, go to emergency or urgent care.

see your dr

.

You damaged a nerve or two when you fell. There's a good chance your body will repair it's self though.

if you dont take headake medicine youll die

maybe you hit you knee so have you damaged a nerve cell (neuron). tell your mom or dad and see if they can help you with it.

that happened to me and it just went away. but u might wanna see ur doctor, just to be sure.

you probably damaged/sprained a major muscle in a weak spot... if it doesn't go away in a couple of minutes then go get it checked out.

Normal. It'l heal with time. May get hot and painful esp with exercise, walking fast or on hills.
You might want to get it checked out by your dr.

Ever heard of nerve-damage? I have arthritis on a knee and because the joint rubs together instead of on a joint disk, it deadens the nerves that cause a spot on the left of my knee that I can't feel. If it's cause by falling, your nerves will grow back.
