The pain comes more and more as I stand. Sitting down doesn't help when it starts. Dose anyone know whats wrong with my hip and right leg?

Go and consult an Osteopath if you can. They can treat the area that squeezes the sciatic nerve and causes this pain. If its not muscular or a nerve being pinched, then they would refer you to the right health professional or maybe send you for an x-ray. I've had and Osteopath treat me for "sciatica" and its very effective if a little uncomfortable.

They will also treat you to make sure your skeletal structure is correctly aligned.

You can't really take pain-relief for something that comes and goes quite fast, but when it happens is excrutiating.

go see a nuerologist, it sounds like a problem with the cyatic nerve

Could be sciatica - which is nerve pain along the sciatic nerve. You should get this checked out by your physician, as he can prescribe some medications that can help.

Sounds like a nerve is pinched or something.....Go to a doctor this cant be diagnosed over the net.

go see a doctor

Ive suffered from similiar pains, but a doctor is the only one who can tell you for sure. The diagnosis could be many different things. The reason can be as simple as severely tightened muscles, inflammation around the nerve, a damaged nerve. Get professional advice on this one!

Ouch! This may be sciatica if it hurts here:

The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body and can be traumatized in many different ways. Sciatic pain is not helped by sitting down.

Treatment depends on the exact cause. Sciatica can even be caused by an hip injection (i.e., Demerol) that injures that nerve. It can be caused by a partly-herniated lumbar disc. It can be temporary or permanent.

Your first source for treatment may be your general physician, who can recommend you to a chiropractor, physical therapist, neurologist, or other appropriate provider.

I have occasional sciatica. My insurer would not pay for treatment, so I put myself on home physical therapy program. Fortunately I have had the benefit of 20 years as a healthcare education teaching assistant!
