I get up earlier .. why is that??!


Question: hi. Well i was wondering why im getting up at weekends earlier. Back in the summer holidays i used to go to bed betwwen 12 and 3am. I got up between 12 noon and 2pm (yes very lazy). Of course when school started i had big trouble getting up in the mornings and still do. i end up fallin asleep usualy the same time as i did in the holidays. but now by the weekend i get up about 10am. why is that ? i didnt before. its very strange. i havent been able to get up on school mornings since i started secondary school 3 years ago anyway. im 13 by the way and i would apreciate some help. thank yu.!!!

This question is routinely asked by most kids as they get older.
Most of your body changes at your age are taking place during your sleep and lets face it you are still growing.
So naturally, you will want to sleep more to allow for the changes. Nature is doing this for you.
Oh there are the nuisance factors like having to get up early during the week when going to school and these do interfer with your development in a minor way.
To make up this you have the lovely weekends when you can lie in until your parents insist on you getting up.
Sleep is important at your age but as you get older, you will not want to sleep as long. It wont be a priority any more.
Patterns will change and some days when you are bounding with energy or looking forward to a special day, you will want to get up early.
What i am basically saying is all this is quite natural. It was exactly the same for your parents no matter what they tell you!.
Dont worry!. Go with the flow.

Maybe u dun haf enuf exercise to rest for long.. Wakin up early is anyway a good sign!! =)

it may be because your used to getting up early for school and you have got into the habit of waking up early
as the holidays go on you will be back to sleeping till 12!!!!

Your body clock is still set for school days. If you want to you can get up later, but it'll be out of sync when you go back to school after the holidays. I'd stick with getting up early.

your body clock wants ya to get up!! and wants you to be active, believe me when your 16 u will sleep soooooo much its part of being a teenager!

because of how happy you are that its the weekend and you been looking forword it and at school you get bord and liss happy so your energy is low and weeked hi

Do you find it easier to get up earlier when you don't have to?

im 13 and the same thing happens to me, i think its just the fact your used to getting up early in the week so its become a routine and you constantly wake up early.

Maybe something is bothering you and your body system is just reacting to that. It could be a sign of tension......like you dont feel hungry when you are head over heals in love with someone......at least in early days

Its sooooooo hard to get up for skool for me but on the weekends I get up no problem!

I think on weekdays its hard to get up because the brain is saying ''omg! i gotta get up and do A LOT of work, study, learn''

But on weekends the brain is like ''oki, i can get up coz i dun have to do much work''

go to bed late so you can get up late if you dont have school or go to bed early so you can get up early if you have school otherwise if you dont have anything to do and you feel like you need extra sleep go to sleep you'll be alright though just thank GOD you're able to go to sleep and wake up the next morning

Like all the other answers, I also agree with the internal clock theory. Your body simply can't adjust that fast, so you'll wake up early on weekends, albeit not as early as you do on school days.

I suggest going to sleep earlier on school days, because it really does help (I know from personal experience) and that way waking up won't be such a problem. (because when your body gets enough sleep, it wakes up naturally)
