For the soreness in your hand: do you properly warm up before playing? If not, it would be a good idea to start doing so. Children and youth need much less of a warm-up than do adults; since most folks start playing as children or youths, the need for warming up one's hands properly is rarely (if ever) addressed by teachers. Gently stretch your hands and lightly press them against one another while stretching. Mime putting your gloves on, carefully pulling the imaginary glove over each finger (you're basically giving yourself a simple hand massage with this one, but I learned it as 'putting your golves on') and making sure that imaginary glove is snug. Or, start at the end of each finger and rub down to the wrist. Same thing.

For the sore arms, start exercising with light weights (like a can of soup) in each hand and do horizontal stretches and other movements that replicate playing the piano.

Do these for a few minutes each day, and your comfortability with playing will increase. Keep at it for at least four weeks before deciding whether it works for you. Things of value are rarely instantaneous.

many musician suffer from repetitive stress injuries. i work hard at staying relaxed when i play. i got major tendonitis in my left arm while in college (music degree/practicing and playing seven hours a day minimum)
see a doctor about your pain and inflamation, always stay relaxed when playing, you,ll play longer!
