No insurance, don't qualify for medicaid...?!

Question: anyone else in this boat? we are a family of four with no insurance, and we don't qualify for medicaid. private insurance, however, would run us about $650/month. just the 2 kids would be $350. we don't have that kind of money. anyone else in this boat, and what do you do?

Lots of people are in that boat.

There are free clinics and health savings accounts for people like you.

Because so many are in your position the big blues have supported Children Health Program to take some of the steam out of single payer plans. As soon as heat is off those plans will disappear. Look into Health care program for your children most states have them. Look into health saving accounts for adults. The ca strophic you need to buy will be squeeze, but if you stay health few years, then there will be money earning interest that might be tax free to help you pay future premiums. The best of all world will be combination of government run universal care, and medical saving accounts, which would directly reward you for staying healthy. Sorry for mixing apples and oranges to get point across. First hope you don't need health care, and in years to come hope you don't need thousands in lab work to get aspirin and aspirins don't cost double figures a peace. Free market needs to make those corrections,
