Often ,acid reflex is caused not by too much acid but not enough. Strange as it sounds it true. The reason why is for two things that happen in the stomach.Acid causes the sphincter to tighten so nothing including acid can back up in the esophagus. The 2nd thing that happen is that in the stomach is that a low acid environment creates gas bubble that pass through the esophagus and at the same time the gas bubbles push acid up. this sometime happens to people who drink Lg. volumes of water. An easy ,cheap test to see if this is the case is to drink 1or 2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. You can also use HCl tablets from the health store. I would also add digestion enzymes with my meals, also available at the health store.
You may need to alter your eating habits . Eating too lg. of a meal can cause gastric upset or skipping meals can do the same. For some ,eating before going to bed can set the stage for gastric upset
There are certain food that are known to relax the sphincter; chocolate, alcohol and Cinnamon ,peppermint and too much sugar. You might want to test different food to check. You may have other triggers.(for me stuffed peppers will do it). Smoking can cause it as well.
I would check with a doctor first to rule out any serious conditions and the I would try the natural approach before taking any drugs.

it could be acid reflux...id ask a doc just go to a clinic and he will recomend some light meds u can get over the counter

You could have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). You could have an ulcer etc. Go see your Dr. There is a lot of treatment for any of these things.

i had the same problem. go talk to your doctor, and ask for a blood test. tell your doctor to take a bllood test for your heartburn. i used to have this, and it was a viruses that triggered this for me. it might be the case for u also. i then took nexium and within 2 months i was all beter, but i still have to watch what i eat, when i eat and all that. and dont eat much sour stuff. hoped it helped! merry xmas@

Best Wishes

Usually some sort of spice you eat.....try some pererment candy..........or if your stomach feels funny....eat some saltine crackers,,,,,,good luck

Acid reflux. This means that stomach acids are coming up your esophagus and reaching your throat. This is not only annoying, it is dangerous. The acids are very strong and can cause cancerous lesions to develop in your esophagus or throat.

See your doctor. She will try to determine WHY you are experiencing this problem and recommend lifestyle changes. If this fails, she will put you on medication.

It doesn't sound like heartburn to me. Have you had your tonsils out? Are you a smoker? Do you have any allergies that you know of? Make an appointment to see your GP after the holidays.

Not to scare you, but this may be a heart problem you have? Very often indigestion is mistaken for a heart attck getting ready to happen. If you have this problem chronicly, you may want to seek a gastronoligist! Good Luck :)
