Hi,
I am a doctor..
Well, this can happen if the infection in the initial area was not cured fully.
so the infection can go from one place to another..
what you need to know is that the ear nose throat are all connectd together and an infection in one place can easily goto the other place if it wasnt cured..
you can get fever and headache with any viral or bacterial infection..they also may involve the tthroat, ear or nose too..

For the time being, use salt water to gargle your throat.do it 3 times per day.
when you goto sleep do it as the last thing so that you wont wash you mouth after the salt water gargle.

do some steam inahaltion.do it about 2/3 times per day.it would help.
take some hot water into a bowl.then cover you head with a towel and inhale the steam.

but you may have to take antibiotics if it is a bacterial infection.amoxycillin 500mg , 3 times per day for 5 days may work..but it again depends on whethe you have penicillin allergey and on whethr the organism is penicillin resistant..
so not take amoxycillin if you have penicillin allergy..

the best thing is to get a throat swab culture and ABST done.
it would determine whether this bacterial or viral.consult your doctor for this.

if its viral there may be no need to take anitbiotics. but you just cant sometimes differentiate from examination alone.

for the time being do the above mentioned things.
also avoid drinking cool things and drink more and more hot water and hot beverages.
Do you work in a very cold environment? if so , avoid that place for the time being and goto a warmer area of your workplace..

You have just had a simple attack of flu. All these symptoms are a part of it. Cough tends to last longer, after the other symptoms go away. This is especially so if you are prone to allergic cough. Take chicken soup, green tea, honey, cinnamon and lemon in water and you will feel better.

Sometimes a nasty cold can linger like that and seem to move from place to place in your body. It's really unpleasant.

Unfortunately, when a cold ends up deep in your chest and gives you a cough, you're often in it for the long haul. Expect 7 to 10 days for the cough to resolve. In the meanwhile, take Robitussin or another over-the-counter remedy to treat the symptoms.

If your symptoms become worse or do not get better after a week or so, you should consider seeing a physician for an evaluation.

Things come and go like that. My colds/flu's usually start with a runny nose, and end with a cough. If it's bad you get a fever in the middle. It sounds quite normal to me.

I'm sure you'll be better soon. :)
