Has anyone ever been addicted to pain killers out there?!

Question: If so, isn't it an absolute hell kicking the habit?

Yes, I was addicted. I still take them for my disease, but they are controlled by a Pain Mgmt doctor and I had to sign a contract like his other patients.
Suboxone or Subutex are the best treatments for them. They eliminate the withdrawal symptoms so you can detox safely. You need to search online for an opoid detox doctor that can safely administer this drug to you. You don't want to have to get on Methadone. Since I've been on Subutex before, the new pain meds I'm on for my disease don't affect me at all. No high feeling...nothing. Maybe just a coincidence. I know how you feel though. Skin crawling, sweating, nervousness, sleepless nights......none of that is fun.
Pain pills are bad news if you have an addictive personality.
Anyway. If you live near Southwest TN I can recommend a GREAT doctor/psychiatrist who administers suboxone.
Just email me. Good luck.

Yes but they are not addictive however you can develop an "emotional dependence" on over the counter drugs. I took paracetamol to help me sleep - about 4 a time each night and it made my poo turn yellow because my liver stopped functioning properly - just use them when they are needed.

Yes. I did it, cold turkey. When I finally got through it, I wondered why I waited so long to just stop. (before things got sooo bad) I guess I was just dreading the withdrawls. Never again; man I'm so happy now, after 2 years. Good Luck, You can do it.

BTW: Suboxone, Methodone, etc. is just trading one bad habit for another. If you really want to be free of drugs, just stop taking them all together. Don't allow another thing control you.

After over twenty years of addiction my best friend was successful with the help of Suboxone. For some reason the drug industry likes to keep it a secret. Here's a link for you.

It works 100 percent with no withdrawals. It can be done on an outpatient basis in some cases.

To many people to name, most habits are hard to break but you can if you really want to. There is lots of help out there.Good luck!

I've been there and back several times. Best advise is to try a methadone clinic where the dosage and detox is at a rate that will get you off the medications without the suffering from being dope sick. Just dose down slowly, about 2 mg every 2 weeks and you will kick it with a minimum of being sick. Just don't use the methodone as another drug to abuse.

There are people like myself that have to accept the fact that we will be on pain medication forever and that addiction is only a problem if you start to abuse the medications.
