It will ease any coughing or sneezing you may have. It should stop any nasal congestion. A sleeping pill won't do those things. So if you are suffering from any of that, I would take the nyquil. Just don't combine the two.

Try lavender drops, you will breathe them in and they work on my family when full of cold.
