Broken Hand?!


Question: Over the weekend I got my hand stuck in my hand mixer. How would I know without having to go to er? Where I live I would be waiting 5 hours

Can you move all of that hand freely? If any part does not move, get a good book and head for the ER. Nerve damage in a hand is nothing to mess with. If everything moves ok, can you use the hand ok? If it's just the fingers, try bandaging the sore one(s) to a small Popsicle stick. See how that goes. If part of a finger is broken, immobilizing it will feel pretty good.

If you seem to be having any real problems with the hand, go to the ER. Sorry. It will be worth it in the long run. Take a good book or a good friend, or both. Go early in the day, like mid-morning. They are often less busy then.
