I have an injury on my chin?!

Question: that is now almost 4 wks old. I went over a baby gate and my leg got caught up. I ended up with a lump about an inch high - it was huge. It bruised, swelled, etc. I must have scratched it at night a couple wks ago. Went to WI Clinic on Friday-gave me antibiotics as it's infected-been ALSO putting hydrogen peroxide on it. Letting air get to it as it won't heal under bandage-still an open wound. Wrk at hosp. but no insurance yet. Grossed even some nurses out. Asked if I was diabetice and I'm not -- so what else would cause it to not heal yet? I'm on 2 antibiotics....I've always healed fast as a rule. - I'm 49 year young btw...

((haha my mom says shes 49 years young

Use a dial soap or safeguard soap soak. These are anti-bacterial soaps. Get a wash cloth and make it as soapy as possible, lots of foam. Wring it out just until it stops dripping and use it as a compress. About 20 min a shot, and as often as you can. I've seen this heal up incredibly bad injuries that are infected. I would also bandage it with an anti-biotic creme and keep it covered while I have clothes on it that brush against the wound. Take it off when it's not gonna get irritated in this way. I think removing the rubbing, and adding the soap should do the trick.
peace
