Answers: Dr. on vacation. after 5 days of using celebrex developed pain in groin area and down front of leg.

if you have insurance call the hot line, and ask to go to the emergency room...

or just stop using the drug until you can see your dr. This could be a serious side effect!

Would you please enlighten me, What is celebrex? Sounds like a breakfast cereal although I very much doubt it.

Below is a list of common side effects of celebrex. It mentions that it could cause strokes indicating a thrombosis. Don't know if it would cause thrombosis in groin area but as there are large arteries there it could be a possibility. It may be coincidence but if you are able to stop taking it for a day or two and see if the pain goes away then you may have to reconsider taking it.
"The most common side effects of Celebrex are nausea, diarrhea, heartburn and still include upset stomach and stomach pain. In rare cases, Celebrex may cause stomach ulcers or stomach bleeding. Using the lowest effective dose for only as long as you have pain may lower your risk of these side effects.
Like all prescription NSAIDs, Celebrex may increase the chance of developing serious and possibly deadly cardiovascular side effects including heart attack and stroke.
You should not take Celebrex if you have an allergy to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Nor should you take it if you have allergies to sulfa medications, such as co-trimoxazole (Bactrim). People with kidney disease or a history of ulcers may be more likely to experience side effects from Celebrex."
