Why do I keep waking up at 5am every morning?!

Question: For the past week I have been waking up at 5 am on the dot for no reason. I'm wide awake too. No one else in my house is awake and the pets will be dead asleep. I don't have to pee or eat or am hot or cold. I just wake up. Does anyone know why this would happen?

Perhaps your body has had enough rest. If you are not getting tired during the day or early evening, this could be the case.
It could be that you have just come out of a dream state, and your mind is waking you to see what's happening. There could be a noise outside, like a car or something, that disturbs your sleep, but by the time you wake, it has passed.

It sounds like your biological clock is out of sync. I would try melatonin to regulate it. You can find it at most drugstores.

Maybe your sleep pattern has changed. Maybe you no longer require as much sleep as you used to.
If you want to sleep longer, try staying up later.

Same thing happens to me. I wake up around 7:30 ,go back to sleep, then wake up at the same time around 9:20. Really odd.

Since you say 5AM on the dot (I've had plenty on the dots a few years ago) I'm thinking perhaps it's an alarm? Have you set it to 5am? Have you EVER set it to 5am or have had any reason to get up at 5 am? Try setting your phone's alarm to 4:58 and see if any odd noise suddenly appears. Anyways if not, maybe your circadiam rhythem just likes 5am. But it's really 5 on the dot? Not like 5:01 or 4:59? Good-luck finding out. Try taking melatonin before bed and see if you wake up.

might be because thats when your alarm goes off

a spirit woke u.

I wish I would be able to do that...maybe there is something bothering you in your sleep...but that many times...wow...you must be a master mind...stay away ....ahhhhhhhh....stay away....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

lol

Could be anxiety!
