Nausea and very acidic stomach? Side-effect of gallbladder surgery?!
Question: I had my gallbladder removed exactly a week ago (no stones...just non-functioning gallbladder) and due to the pain medications and the anisthethia I had extreme nausea and stomach pain (acidity). Since my return home from the hosptial and for the entire week, I have stopped taking the pain medications and have began to take Prilosec, pepto bismal, and aciphex for my acidic stomach. However...it doesn't seem to be working. I can't sleep. It is extremely uncomfortable. I still get waves of nausea. Are these normal side-effects of surgery? How long will it take for my stomach to settle down. It burns from my sternum to mid-belly. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. I will call the doctor tomorrow. But has anyone had this same experience? How did you cope with it to at least get comfortable and function on a daily basis? Any ideas on what this is or the cause of it?

yeah, and it's gonna take the prilosec time to work. Try raising your head.
