Cracked rib?!

Question: Two weeks ago I feel REALLY hard and I thought I cracked a rib. I went to the ER and the x-rays did not show any fractures (although the x-rays are not full-proof). The pain became more tolerable however last week I had my gallbladder removed and since then my ribs hurt so bad. I get stabbing pains in my side and have to hold a pillow across my side sometimes in order to breath and not get that stabbing pain. Does this sound like a cracked rib?

Could be nerves regrowing sweety, that hurts like heck and would have onset much worse than initial symptoms that would start at about 2-6 weeks depending on the person and exact nerve damage. Was the area numb at all prior? Was there at least a week between initial injury and your current pain? If so your likely culprit is damaged nerves reforming hold in there it'll last a few weeks
