Why do I bruise so easily?!

Question: I recently moved my entire house, with just my husband. I have noticed bruises all over my legs from this.
I never bruised when I was younger?
I have a 7 month old, could having a baby make me more susceptable to bruising? Or did I over do it?

You may have gotten the bruises from moving. Bruising easily can also be a sign of low blood iron. Try eating more foods rich in iron like frosted mini wheats, or wheaties. However, if you continue to see bruising that becomes more severe, i suggest seeing a doctor.

Anemia can be a cause of bruising easily. Definitely see a doctor. If at least for a quick blood check and diet suggestions.

Iron deficiency. Take iron tablets or eat liver.

lack of Iron, ask Dr. to do blood workup
eat Iron enriched foods

maybe you got very sensitive skin which will bruise easily.

i have heard that a lack of vit-c makes one prone to bruising.

Some people get more sensitive to bruises as they get older. It also could be because of your baby.
I bruise extremely easily at 16 and I never did when I was younger.

You may be anemic. It probably isn't serious, but you might want to call your doctor and have your blood checked. It isn't abnormal for a new mother, especially if nursing, to need a little more iron.

i bruise easily as well, for me this is hereditary. My mother bruises very easily too. Because I've been checked for iron deficiency. So maybe you got it from one of your parents. Or like the others said could be anemia.

Sometimes when you are in the heat of the moment doing lots of exercise or in your case lots of moving...you bump yourself and think nothing of it. Then later on you have a bruise or a scratch and have no idea how it got there. It happens to me all the time. Just recently the roof of my duck pen caved in and I had about 4 hours to fix it before the next storm came in. When I came in the house my hands were bleeding and I didn't ever remember cutting myself.

Eat some leafy dark green veggies. (collards) They contain vitamin K which is essential to blood clotting. Also any meds that you may be on could increase brusing.

have a CBC check (Complete blood count) you may have low platelets count.

Go to the doctor and get a blood test done - only surefire way to make sure it isn't anything serious and to get the proper treatment, whether it be extra iron in your diet or some other form of treatment.
