Pain in my knee?!

Question: I have pain my knee after playing basketball, and I am a high schooler, so it's not like I have "old crusty joints" Is this normal? What can I do? Any other comments or suggestions? Thanks a lot in advance!

ok i have the same problem, except i have a big bump just below my knee-cap.

i went to my doctor and was told it was a thing SOME teenagers get who do alot of sport or exercise.

the problem is called osgood-schlatters disease....BELIEVE ME it is absolutly nothing to worry about even though it sounds a mouthful....the pain will soon stop, the swelling will go down, and everything will stop after a year or so.

If youre not used to playing sports give your body time to catch up. If thats not the case, you may have twisted your leg wrong and strained your knee. I have been doing back squats for years and I am barely starting to feel the damage in my right knee.

I have been talking glucosamine which is good for your joints and it helped me heal after a bad wrist injury in boxing.

bye a suppurt badage that should help it get stronger good luck

It is possible that you could have twisted your knee or you could have overworked the joint in basketball. I would suggest seeing a doctor if it does not get any better fairly soon. I would suggest taking ibuprofen, and using ice on it for 20 minutes and giving it some rest and time to heal. Good luck
