I have 16 piercings, 15 of which are in my ears, 5 which are cartilage piercings. Honestly with handling any piercing it all really depends on your tolerance for pain.
But if you can handle getting your belly button piercing you can most definetly handle getting your cartilage pierced. the hardest part with getting it done involves sleeping, because if you sleep on the side you get it pierced on it wont heal as fast, and will hurt from laying on it.
but dont worry about it all all, i see it has if sure it may hurt a little to get it done but once you have it and its all healed up youll be sooooo happy with yourself for getting it done.

You'll have to clean just about EVERY peircing everyday.

It's really up to the person, but judging by comments made by people who got their cartlige and/or nose peirced, I'll have to say that the nose is more painful.
