buy some melatonin. it's natural and available at drug stores. works every time for me. :)

smoke a joint

get someone top knock you out. or go to the doctor for medicne for insomnia

Vitamin aisle...Melatonin

maybe tell your doctor and ask him if there is a good medicene that will help you sleep at night but is harmless to ur health! i hope my answer helped!

one word lunesta

Rub one out

Take some Valerian Root. It will relax you.

What I take at night is some form of sleep pills. They are various pills and all have different names but all are the same exact thing. It should just be Diphenhydramine HCl 25 mg. It makes you fall asleep because a side effect is drowsiness. You feel real drowsy and will fall asleep pretty well. I would say it takes about a hour to kick in so take it a hour ahead of when you plan to go to sleep. Take two pills of it and you should be good. The two that I have are called Sleep Tablets and Sleep-Aid. You should find them at pharmacies. Hope this helps.

seriously i suffered the same! in the vitamin dept of your store find melatonin, this is something the body should produce on its own when it gets dark. if yours doesn't this will provide great relief! ive tried sleeping pills but found it really hard to wake up, but with this i feel great to wake up! MELATONIN

let your imagination run wild. like imagine yourself floating or flying or I donno.. like try relaxing yourself to the extreme; you can also try drinking something warm like a glass of milk or infusion.. also, try taking it easy on coffee or anything that contains cafeine starting 3 PM.. make sure you are tired enough by the time you go to bed, and do your best to feel comfortable in bed, surround yourself with pillows and wear comfy pjs..

If you want to stay away from medications, you can certainly try the vitamin "melatonin." It really helps lots of people.

If that doesn't work for you, there are three new prescription meds for sleeping that really do work. Lunesta helps almost everyone! Rozerem is another one. The third is called Ambien CR. The CR means it not only PUTS you to sleep, but it also KEEPS you asleep. I'm not sure you need that one. These are all non-habit forming, which is great. Please see your doctor if the melatonin doesn't do the trick.
One of those meds really should help you.

Then there's door #3. If that doesn't help, talk to your doctor about getting on a "circadian" schedule (or rhythm.) You might have to go through a sleep specialist or a sleep clinic. You can E-Mail me about it any time. I can help you with that. But try the first two first. There IS help for you, my friend! :)

Well when I have to study I use to fall asleep :)
What I'm trying to tell you is that if you go to bed with a book you will be interested in the lecture and will stop when you really feel like sleeping. Just laydown and dig into the book, it works perfect with me!
Also I strongly recommend you to learn to knit or crocheting, it's so relaxing. Sudoku is also an alternative :)
Hope it helps.

First, try to limit your sugar and caffeine intake the last 3 hours before bed (this includes soda and chocolate, not just coffee). drink lots of water throughout the day. make a list of things bothering you. keep a pad and paper by your bed to jot down things running through your head so you will not forget them but don't have to try to remember them. exercise daily, but not within last 2 hours before going to bed. make a point of going to bed and getting up at about the same time every day, even on the days off. take a nice warm and relaxing bath or shower right before bed. meditate or pray, depending on your faith beliefs. if these don't help, consider getting a physical to rule out health issues.

i sleep horribly from chronic back pain. i take ativan/trazadone when i have a couple days in a row of bad sleep. others have mentioned some of the other rx meds out there which can work too. the rozerum is similar to taking melatonin, otherwise they are all sedatives. benadryl makes you sleepy too, or there is another one like that doccusamine sulfate (or something like that, it is in nyquil and they sell it in the section with nytol and other sleep medicine in the medicine/vitamin isle in the store.

if you dont want to go the meds route, meditation has always been helpful to me. what i do is lie back and clear my mind of all thoughts. this takes some practice (it is called 'beginners mind' in buddhism) but really relaxes you. if a thought comes to you, dont fight it, think of it, satisfy your need to contemplate it, then release it from your mind. as you practice more and more, you will get less 'intrusive' thoughts in your train of thought. i like to picture a turbulent pond or stream, then get it to be still and completely smooth. this for me is very relaxing, it quiets the mind (which keeps many people from getting to sleep) and rids you of all the thoughts and stresses of the day. you are then ready to drift off to sleep with a calm mind.

try buddhanet.net for meditation ideas.

Have you experienced any stress? this maybe the reason for your insomnia......you need to see your doctor immediately as severe sleep deprivation can affect your whole physical and mental wellbeing if it hasn't already
