How to heal a pulled quad?!

Question: I pulled my quad about 6 months ago, and I never did anything about it, and the pain was always there, but after a while I just got used to it, kind of like a hangnail, you know? Well I've always been a runner, and I run or jog everyday.( I actually posted a question a little while ago about sore muscles.) My legs have been sore lately, but my right thigh especially. It's a worse pain than just a muscle sore, and I think it's just from when I pulled my quad before. How long does it take to heal a pulled quad? And will it heal on its own? When I pulled it before a friend told me it would heal on it's own, but I don't think it really ever fully healed. Is there anything I can to quicken the healing process? I have no idea about these things.Should I stop running? If so, for how long?I really don't want to, especially for a long period of time.

Thanks :)

Take supplemental first aids are the so-called R.I.C.E. instructions: Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. It is helpful, as continuing care, to use an ice massage 3 or 4 times a day for 15 minutes at a time. . Fill a large styrofoam cup with water and freeze. Tear a small amount of the foam from the top so the ice protrudes. Massage firmly over the injured area in a circle about the size of a softball.

After the first 72 hours, apply heat instead of ice if it feels better. Use heat lamps, hot soaks, hot showers, heating pads or heat liniments and ointments. Take whirlpool treatments, if available. Wrap the injured quadricep muscle loosely with an elastic bandage between treatments. Massage gently and often to provide comfort and decrease swelling.

Maybe you have to stretch and do light lifting to strenghten the muscle. I would also do a lot of calf exercising to build up the calves muscles to accomodate for the quad, like take the pressure off the quad, if that makes any sense.

You don't without rest and light exercise and I mean light, but go see a doctor for some help so you don't mess it up further

Sarra do it , and don't mess it up , you want to be able to run still don't you? Then don't mess around.

Have a Happy and Safe new year

check on google, by the way you are very beautiful

Marvin the Martian is right on... most important is to rest it and see a DR. to make sure you have no muscle fibres that are torn....
