Because you're not doing anything to make your spine grow the way it is. Therefore, there's nothing to "stop doing" in order for your spine to grow straight.
The best that can be done is bracing (for moderate-to-major curves) to try to keep the curve from getting larger. If that doesn't work, spine fusion will be done as a last resort.

If the curve is under 10 degrees, you might have it checked every once in awhile. Greater than 10 degrees, you ought to monitor it regularly. You may or may not be a candidate for bracing, depending on several things: how big the curve is, your age, how close you are to being through growing, etc. Once the spine has ceased to grow in the early 20s, the curvature will not become any worse. . Chiropractic care can help as well with the imbalance of the pelvis bones if your curve affects them.
