How come I can never get to sleep?!

Question: For about the past week or so, I can't get to sleep until 1:00-2:00am and when I'm finally ready to go to sleep, my eyes feel like they're about to pop out of my head and I have headaches.
I have to leave the tv on because, I don't know why, but I have to fall asleep to a good show. Is this anything to be concerned with?

-If it helps, Im only young; 12 yrs old, female

First thing first come, you should go see your family doctor first, then book a schedule with hospital to do a complete scan/health check... just to be on the safe side.

Then, leave the TV on can only make your headache problem worse... Here are some tips you might consider for your own good :)

1. if you don't have any heart and stroke problem, try take hot bath or soak your feet in hot water for about 10 to 15 minutes, half an hour before you go to sleep.

2. drink a glass of warm or hot milk, that helps.

3. avoid spicy and/or salty food, and, definitely no coffee nor soft drink nor any thing that contains caffeine, no alcoholic beverages as well. :)

4. relax, breath slow and comfortably, try not to think of any plan before you head to bed.

5. shut the TV, make sure the room temperature isn't too warm nor too cold. keep the environment dark, a night light if necessary.

Good luck, and sweet dreams. :)

You may want to try MELATONIN...3mgs up to 5mgs....It is a vitamin...establishes regular sleep patterns..also helps you to fall asleep...If NOT...you may want to see a doctor...But try those first...good luck!!!..Also there are no side affects to worry about!!!
