Is this normal for a lip piercing?!

Question: So i just got my lip pierced yesterday.
and i woke up this morning and its swelled up and it hurts a lot more than it did yesterday, is it normal for the lip piercing to hurt more the next day?
Like i have been cleaning it so much, so i know its not infected or anything.
Also how can i keep it clean
i know to use mouthwash, and my piercer also told me to use like Saleen contact solution, and salt water, what else can i use
i want to make sure my lip DOESNT get infected :D

Yes it is normal for it to hurt more the next day, I have my tongue pierced and it hurt ALOT more two days after I got it done. Saltwater and mouthwash should be okay, you'll know if it gets infected 'cus it'll hurt alot more and probably be red and have pus (yuk!)
The thing to be careful about is if it swells so that the piercing is digging into the skin, that can cause infection and you should see a doctor if that happens.
So, be careful, keep it clean and it should be fine ^-^

use alcohol

thats what you get for pierceing your lip......

You're probably fine all piercings swell especially the next day...however it is possible to over-clean your piercing and cause irritation three times a day is sufficient...use bactine on the outside and either listerine or sea salt on the inside
