Is it possible to pull a muscle in your neck?!
Question: For the past few days (coincidently, right after a shoulder massage) I've felt this dull pain in my neck when I move a lot or breathe deeply. I have no other symptoms and the only thing present is the pain. I have no difficulty breathing, it just hurts sometimes.

Does it hurt here? http://round-earth.com/images/trap-headp... http://drgarymellick.com/muscle-trapeziu... Sometimes the trapezius muscle, the large muscle between your shoulder and neck, can hurt like this. The sternocleidomastoid http://www.exrx.net/Graphics/SternoSide.... can hurt like this too.
There are several muscles in your neck which may be the culprit. These images may help:

In addition, many of the nerves from the cervical area can be affected by a vigorous shoulder massage http://www.eorthopod.com/images/ContentI...
You may want to try, as another poster suggested, alternating heat and cold to the area. You may also want to treat the discomfort with NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or naproxen sodium (Aleve).
If the shoulder massage was given by a licensed masseuse, you may want to return to him/her for further advice.
maybe. actually not. because you cannot stretch ur neck long enough for a muscle to be pulled
Yes it sure is and it can be very painful. You can also sleep the wrong way on it and wake up with it hurting. I have this problem but I had X-rays and I have 3-little disc that are flaring up in mine. good Luck hope you feel better soon.
It sounds like a notted up muscle, try alternating heat and ice 20 min at a time, also some warming gel, I found Sore No More works great.
