Pain in the bum?!

Question: I'v had a pain on the right side of my lower back and top of my bum. I've had it a week and i'm not the sort to keep running to the Dr's. Also today i've flu like symptons. Pain killers do the trick but wear off afterwards. Sitting down for two long gives me a limp. Any clues to what it might be. Can't see the Treage nurse till Monday.

i think the rampant dp activity is finally taking its toll,

your ar,se is ripped to shreds,

take morphine , it should ease the pain and reduce the desire for anal refreshment

farmer giles..

stay off the prunes and custard.

could just be a pulled muscle/ligament

Sounds like you need a massage. Do you have kids? Kids will give you a pain in the bum every time.....

Seriously, though, how have your bowel movements been? Sounds like you might have a blockage in your intestines...

See a Chiropractor for an adjustment. You Have a pinched nerve in your low back.

The beginnings of an Arthritic hip.

Sounds like a sciatic nerve problem. You must've strained a muscle and it is causing swelling and pressure on your sciatic nerve, which runs from you lower back and bilaterally. It can affect one or both legs. Try motrin regularly for a decrease in swelling. Use heat and ice intermittently. No lifting, if you have to bend, bend at the waist and push with your legs not your back. Do not stretch or bend and stretch to reach things. As for the flu like symptoms, they may or may not be related but to be safe, rest, drink lots of fluids, vitamin C and eat balanced diet. Feel better. P.S Antiinflammatories such as motrin have been proven effective therapy for strained muscle and inflammation, use with caution and do not mix with aspirin containing products. Eat with the motrin, can cause GI upset. The idea is tor reduce the inflammation and promote healing.

Hi,
Maybe a muscle relaxer works, I had a pain like that and it worked great

Sciatic nerve would be very painful, in the right area and affects your walking. The flu symptoms...are they directly related? You could just have that too?
Try brufen and paracetomol together, staggering them so that you get good relief,eg, 'paracetoml plus' and then brufen two hours later, and then 'paracetomol plus' two hours after the brufen (every four hours for each)...it's safe, ask the pharmacist. Go to A&E if you are in agony, but they are buggers and will only help if you are being tortured by it.
Nice warm bath would release the tension in the muscles, hotwatrer bottles, ice alternatively...find which feels best, and lying on fllor with rolled tea towel under head and in small of back (not in a draught).

Good luck, really feeling for you.
Either way, GP to get strong painkiller and time off work for this one bud.

sciatica

Sounds like sciatica to me, afraid a visit to the Dr is in order to confirm.
