You need to know what triggers them and avoid those factors. Some people actually GET migraines from caffeine and chocolate. I suffer from whole body crippling migraines and also lose my vision when I get one. The best thing that works for me is finding a nice cool, dark and quiet place to curl up and let my meds work. If you are getting them more often then before, think back and see if you changed something in your diet, are using a new perfume... someone else may be using a new fragrance that triggers them as well.
Have you actually been diagnosed with migraines?? They might be tension or cluster headaches. Best to consult with a physician and receive a diagnosis. There are many Rx meds out there for migraines and their different stages and effects. A chiropractor has also been known to help in some peoples cases.
Good luck!!

Advil

I've heard of Pepsi working well.

Personally, a heating pad works wonders.

Take the Tylenol or Advil with Coke. The one you drink in the red can. Works quicker that way.

Excedrin, water, exercise.

Tylenol
lemon on head
ice on head
cold rag on head
honey on head.

Good luck!

Best way is to take 2 mini sandwich bags fill with 4-5 medium icecubes per bag and hold on side of fore head or temples

if they are not too frequent, i suggest 2 Alleve, 500mg of Magnesium, and a 20 minute nap. This should be done asap at the onset of the migraine. If that doesn't work, then prescriptions like Imitrex 100mg will. Avoid caffeine and avoid Tylenol and definitely avoid Excedrin, all of them cause rebound headaches. If the migraines are more than once a week, see your doc

PANADOL...it takes like 2 minutes 2 work...it really good.

apply pressure to your temples. but it doens't work on everybody.

if u have a massager, put it on ur neck.

believe me, i have migranes all the time.

A good chiropractor! My wife had them, now she back to normal again. Might take a few trips, but it works!

microwave a lemon until its warm but not hot and then cut it in half and rub it on your forhead. it takes a few mins but it should work. does for me anyway.

relax...a dark room with a dark handsome man is the answer.....if not for real use your mind...sex is one of the greatest ways to get rid of a headache even a migraine... as the blood leaves your head and travels down there relieving the pressure

i know it might sound crazy, but take 2 slices of potatoes and put them on each side of your temple and wrap it with a cloth such as a bandanna and cover your eyes. it really works!

Often simple things like sleep and water are the best ideas. If that doesnt work try painkillers.

chocolate is not good.
Caffeine works but don't use too much.
Pepsi or coke will help too - but don't drink it all.
If you live in the USA Aleve works or by prescription Naproxin (it is the same thing).
Put a cool ice bag at the base of the neck but on the upper portion of where you head is - this will help the vessels to open up.
Do you have a lavender bag? Put that on your eyes and try to relax.
Hope some of these tips help.

In a pinch caffeine does work (at least for my migranes it usually does). Migraine are caused from expanding blood vessels whereas caffeine restricts the vessels... that is how my doctor explained it to me in laymans terms. Stands to reason.

caffeine works for me, because most of mine are from caffeine anyway, but, they have migraine relievers at wal-mart, but i got used to them after a while, and i just had to keep taking a higher dose. i think caffeine works though. go to that link down there to help if you need it.

Migraine is diagnosed by history and eliminating other causes of headache. The causes are still not known for certain. there is no cure but there are treatments available. Caffeine has been shown to help, but chocolates can bring on the migraine. The treatment of acute migriane is painkillers like aspirin and Paracetamol. Failing this the Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g ) Naprosyn or the "Tryptans" (e.g Imigran) can be tried. Talk to your doctor.

Don't listen what people say.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief. For cure you will have to follow acupuncture.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.
