Has anyone used "chantix" to quit smoking???!
Question: Hello all, I am going to try chantix soon, but I am worried about drug interactions. I am scared to try it for some reason:? I am currently takeing LYrcia , lortab , flonase , alegra D , norabe bc , omneprazole? for acid reflux and 80 mgs baby aspirin 1 daily. I realy need to quit but I am scared of takeing all these meds. Any advice would be soo appreciated. If you have tried chantix or know someone who has , please tell me your exsperience.

I took it for awhile. My doctor because of my medical problems only gave me half dose... that didn't work at all but I tried it full does.. It didn't work as quickly as it claims but within 3 weeks I barely wanted to smoke at all. It worked great!
I take a lot of aspirin and acid stuff (or did) it didn't interfere with that stuff at all. I did have some very VIVID and scary dreams. They got a little less after awhile but still had dreams. I think that was the worst part of the pills and make sure you eat something before taking them. It helps with the nausea. Nausea could be bad at times too especially on an empty stomach.
But if you can handle dreams and nausea the pill is definitely worth it, or at least for a few weeks til you can stop.
Ask your doctor if it will interfere with any of those. I know several people who have used it and it was a success. Good luck!
my friends hubby went on chantix and his personality did a complete 360. he went from the nicest guy to having manic depressive episodes and being completely homicidal.
if youre gonna try it, good luck, but just be self aware to any changes it might cause.
i have taken it before and i did quit for a while but i had to stop taking it because it made my stomache hurt and i got headaches. its different for different people but if u stick with it u will probably quit.
My mom took that and it makes u have weird dreams but thats all thats happened to her :)
