First I think a good mattress topper and medium hard mattress. Then back massage every week. Obviously Lyrica has helped along with Valium. Lyrica 25 mgs at night before bed and Valium 2mgs at night before bed. Combined they really allow me to get a good nights sleep. Importantly, go to sleep when your body tells you and wake up when your body tells you. If I am 'woken' say by the alarm clock, telephone, then I am not a happy person for the rest of the day! My body has it's own unique cycle, does not fit in with 9-5. I then go swimming, take a sauna and steam. Low fat diet, walk three miles three times a week and if I need a afternoon nap, sorry I need a nap. Good Luck

Welcome to the lovely club. I'm really sorry for you, but there are ways to make it a little better.
First of all, eat right. Make sure you are eating properly. I know it's hard to cook, but it really helps in the long-run. The better you eat, the better you feel.
Sleep on regular hours. Keep the same sleep schedule every day. Make sure you are getting 8-9 hours EVERY day. If you want to sleep in, make sure it is an hour or less.
Get exercise. I know you feel terrible and it's almost impossible to get up, but it's worth it. Make sure it's mild and low impact. Try walking or running on a treadmill. I've never tried it, but swimming supposedly helps. You can talk to your doctor about an exercise regimen that will work for you.
Keep moving. If you start to get depressed about feeling this way, you will only get worse.
Know your limits. You cannot do what most of your peers do. Learn to say no. It's not worth pushing yourself just to appear normal or to try to fulfill somebody else's expectations. You come first.
I hope this helps! Good luck with this diagnosis!

I have fibromyalgia too. I am on a medicine called Remeron. Remeron helped me tremendously. I hardly have pain anymore which is nice. I might have some once in a great while but not much. I have had all kinds of pain and discomfort. Mainly though the sleeping was a problem for me as fatigue. I still become tired easily but can't always sleep. I try to exercise which helps, take warm baths in the middle evenings and drink hot tea to help me relax so hopefully I will sleep. Camomile is a good tea to drink, preferably without caffeine. I suffered with this before I found the right medicine to help me. Sometimes this can take a while depending on what medicine works for you. I thought I'd never find anything to help me. I hurt so bad for so long which is nice to finally find the right medicine to help me with the pain.

I used to be dibilitated by it.
- What's your blood type ... eat right.
- Deep Sleep (aroma therapy product) for to sleep.
- Mild exercise ... plain ol walking
- Stretch, stretch, stretch, so there's no hurt, hurt, hurt.
- MSM to reduce inflamation.
- Min Chex so as not to get depressed.
- Find a great chiropracor & get one of those physicals you can't get at a regular doctor.
