Have you ever heard of a seeming small accident causing a lifetime disability?!

Question: I hurt my wrist over two months ago, had osteo edema and other sympotoms...?
I still can't use my hand. I tried to pick up a FORK and my wrist hurt. I forgot for a moment a few days ago and picked up something that only weighed two pounds...and I spent the rest of the night in agony.
This pain seems like I will never be able to use this hand again.
The doctor even admitted , it's not getting better and may always be this way.

What would make a simple fall RUIN my hand permanently?

There is a condition called RSD. Have you researched that?

Hello,

Unluckily pinching your nerve in just the right place may render it damaged beyond repair - which is more than likely what happened to your wrist. You should try physical therapy or ask your doctor if there's any treatment for it. Hell, it may even just be carpal tunnel syndrome.

My fiance helped move a fileing cabinet and hurt his back at 37 and he is disabled because of it.. so yes .. one accident is all it takes to become disabled for life.

I was watching 60 minutes (or similar) one night and it featured a guy who slipped over getting out of the shower and ended up a paraplegic(?).. well he could use his arms but not his legs and the doctors said he had zero chance of ever walking again.

Also this guy I know got an infection in his leg from gardening around dead possum remains (they were decomposed so he didnt even realise they were there) and it infected his whole leg and he is unable to walk properly even two years on and is on heaps of drugs as the infection never goes away.
