Regular medical insurance?!

Question: Is this a good resource? And is it really like they say, or kind-of off base?

Anyone who knows anything on the subject, please help me out here!

No it's not off-base at all. That's exactly how it works, unless you have to, or can, go through the government for insurance. Here in California there are 2 types: Ability -To -Pay and Indigent Insurance, both of which are very time consuming and just as limited in coverage, but are available to people that meet the criteria. As long as you are low or no- income these programs are there to use. However, the Ability to Pay coverage only works at the ONE county hospital that offers it and it takes up to 30 days to see a doctor as a new patient. The only upside to that particular program is that it covers any and all prescriptions from that hospital. The Indigent insurance takes longer to apply and be accepted and usually doesn't cover prescriptions, no matter where they are from or where you go to fill them. The only upside to that particular program is that you can go to the hospital/doctor of your choosing and have a bill sent to your home(wherever u designate). I don't have regular, decent health insurance so I'm one of the unfortunate ones you spoke of. lol. Bottom line is that you are absolutely right in saying that one should invest in good health insurance, only after they "shop" around. Nobody has that kind of money laying around, especially if you need to see more than one doctor for some reason. You didn't leave anything out and again I find your writing to be informative as well as entertaining. Your personality really comes out when you write. (Needing anti-depressants after gettin a Dr's. bill_--that's hilarious)
