I have a shoulder that keeps dislocating?!
Question: I just wanted to know if I needed to have surgery. They have told me if it happens again I will is there any way I can stop this from happening please help me but the problem is I do not know when it has dislocated, I only know whemn it pops.

Hi,shoulder dislocation is very painful injury,I wish you cure soon,,commonest type is the anterior dislocation ,,to minimise it avoid completely any hand over head movement also getting you hand to back bocket or similar movements..THe incidance of recurrance is very high after first dislocation in young age ( below 20 years) and incidance becoming less with age.I advice you to have MRI to knew injury happend with the first dislocation ,then your doctor will decide what is next,now operation can be done with scopes without opening the shoulder only 3 small wounds each 5 mm,you can go home second day ,,good luck
I went to school with a boy who had this, it would pop out in a basketball game. He finally had to have surgery. He was out of hospital the next day.
