How to fix muscle spasm?!

Question: I woke up and snapped my neck (it bent back, I heard a crack, don't ask how I bent my head back, no idea) and then it hurt really bad. I went to the hospital and I have a muscle spasm in my neck. I know it doesn't just go away like boom but he gave me some tylenol and a hot water pack (like an ice pack, but hot not cold). And anyways, what could I use to make it not hurt so much?

Owww! I had his happen once. I woke up and my head was turned to the left, and any time I tried to straighten it out, it was searing pain!

Unfortunately, it will take several days to recover.

You could take 4 or 5 Motrin every 4 hours (which equals prescription strength, so it's cool, not an O.D.; I do it all the time for really bad cramps; Mortin is a godsend!!!).

But I think when it's a muscle issue, it takes several days to heal properly.

Motrin will help with the pain. Honestly, Tylenol is utterly useless. Again, spoken from experience with cramps!!!

A heating pad will help too.

ask the doctor

deep massage worked for me

Perhaps you should have asked the doctor while you were at the hospital instead of asking a bunch of nerds on the internet.

They should of given you muscle relaxers. Massage is good too.

use a cold pack,

I get the same problems and will listen to the advise you get.

hope you feel better soon

Hey whens the last time you have your daily 8 glasses of water? Oh and hey use BENGAY!! Lol! take care!

............ y didnt u ask the doc? use some painkillers like tylenol, advil and stuff

a heating pad. they work wonders

Slow stretching and massage might help.

yes you got it it is fasiculatory muscle syndrome.
never massage it.
take hot bath or hot water fermantation you can apply all local rubificients . do not strain neck.
no pillows.
physiotherapy better

Ouch, sounds painful. First of all, try to limit movement of your neck to as little as possible for the next few days. This will help the swelling and soreness of the muscles and joints go away. I would suggest taking over-the-counter Ibuprofen (aka Motrin) instead of Tylenol because Tylenol is not anti-inflammatory (its only an analgesic and anti-fever med). Ibuprofen will reduce swelling of muscle and joints and help out. Give your neck some rest for a few days, a week if possible. You should be back to normal in a little while. Once you have completely healed, I would suggest either asking your doctor or finding a reputable online source for stretching exercises for the neck muscles. These will strengthen your neck muscles (e.g. the platysmus and sternocleidomastoid muscles) and make them less susceptible to injury. If the pain worsens or does not go away after a week, you should see your doctor as soon as possible.

All the previous suggestions are good.
Eat some sources of potassium.
Find those online.
Good luck.
Ready.
Set.
Go.
