Hand got cut badly?!

Question: Was partying and got a deep cut just above my wrist, on the heel of my palm. It bled badly, but got it bandaged. Happened last night, should I keep it wrapped up as it's still really sore, or should I wait a couple of hours before I open it and clean the wound?

If it bled profusely, it should be clean. If it is bandaged properly starting with butterfly bandages on a properly lined up wound, I would change the dressing without disturbing the wound. If a good cut man or first aider did not apply butterly bandages, go to the doctor, a clinic, or the ER to have it stitched, or you will end up with a jagged scar that takes a long time to heal.

I would look at it and see if it got infected. If it is, see a doctor.

u should immediately go 2 a doc n get a dressing done.....there could b a possibility of contracting infections lyk tetanus etc.....

keep it wrapped for a while
remove it when the bleeding chills down(reduces)

I think you should have it looked at by a docotor. Is it still bleeding? Yes you want to keep it clean. Good luck.

seek medical help. y! answers isn't goin to treat your cut

Is it "only" a cut or have you lost flesh at cutting. If you have lost flesh you should see a doctor asap to get it again fixed. If it is a deep but simple cut you should desinfect the woung and bandage it carefully. Leave the bandage on 3 days before you open it and open it very carefully.

Get yourself up to the A and E!

I should clean it out now then wrap it up. I once had a really bad cut on the joint of my thumb and the nurse put what they call butterfly tape on it. Stitches were no good because of where it was but if you put tiny strips of tape over the cut it only leaves a tiny neat scar.

My advice is to go to A&E, you may need a tetanus injection. They will clean your wound up properly and stitch or steri--strip if necessary.

Depends who did the original dressing, if done at hospital.........leave it, if a friend who had also been drinking did it then it wont harm to have a look, re-clean and redress and seek further medical management if required.

there is a limited amount of time that sutures will be helpful
go to er and get it stitched
